About Keda Logistics
Forged Through Partnership and Proven Expertise
In 2004, Laird Ongman partnered with Ken and Gerri Cook to serve Highway 37. In 2022, Roliprojects and C-Force joined to form Keda Logistics, a cohesive unit blending local knowledge, B.C. trucking, and global forwarding for Northwest B.C.
Keda Logistics Ltd. has evolved from Keda Propane Ltd. owners in Dease Lake, BC, Ken and Gerri Cook. In 2004, Laird Ongman was working for Canadian Freightways in Smithers. Laird was looking for a way to offer scheduled and truckload freight service to the communities and projects on Highway 37.
Laird travelled to Dease Lake and asked around about who the best people in the area are to consider a new business venture. He was directed unanimously to Ken and Gerri Cook. They became business partners and close friends.
From there Keda Freight Service was formed. Freight was consolidated in Smithers at the Canadian Freightways terminal. Keda sent down their own trucks and picked up loaded freight trailers for delivery, returning empty trailers at the same time. A local business providing employment and revenue was formed.
Their main business, Keda Propane, was a great springboard, as they already had equipment and staff.
Fast forward to 2022, Laird was still engaged in transportation to Highway 37 projects and then became employed by Roliprojects (Rohde & Liesenfeld Canada Inc.), an international freight forwarder with global reach specializing in major project work. Managing components and materials from anywhere on the planet to BC project sites.
C-force Transport evolved from C-force Marine, a major fresh and frozen fish hauler. With a head office in Parksville but hauling hundreds of loads annually from Prince Rupert. C-Force has been in business and on the roads for over 32 years and counting. C-force was being constantly called upon for reliable freight service by Roliprojects, and a new partnership and friendship ensued.
Keda Logistics Ltd. was formed in partnership with Ken's and Gerri’s extensive knowledge of the projects and roads, equipment, and client requirements. Laird’s 25 years in BC trucking transportation and Roliprojects' 40+ years in international freight forwarding and tapping into C-Force transports BC service and proximity to Northwest BC. Together they form a cohesive unit of project transportation expertise, from long-range, over-dimensional load planning to container freight from overseas and contractor equipment and materials from North America.
